"Never ask of money spent /
Where the spender thinks it went. /
Nobody was ever meant /
To remember or invent /
What he did with every cent."
- Robert Frost

You may be a little too fixated on your professional life. Don't
push others away from you, even if you do it gently. Long lost friends
may be trying to reclaim you.

The long run is a misleading guide to
current affairs. In the long run we are all
dead. Economists set themselves too easy,
too useless a task if in tempestuous seasons
they can only tell us that when the storm is
long past, the ocean will be flat. - John
Maynard Keynes, "A Tract on Monetary
Reform", 1924

Brooklyn Museum of Art Winter Ball 2003.
The Vienna Festival Orchestra was founded in 1998 by a small group
of classical musicians who trained and performed together in Vienna.
The musicians are all freelancers who play everywhere from Broadway
to Lincoln Center. We were there.
Guys from Stepping Out gave
a free Viennese Waltz lesson. Huge floor was very crouded
and shoulder-to-shoulder populated by non-ballroom people
who didn't know about existence of line of dance, so it was
practically impossible to dance. Oh, on top of that orchestra
played a lot of polka, mazurka, hell-knows-what-without-strict-tempo.
But in general it was fun.
