| Dance School. By now we have all learned the structure of dancing, timing, choreography and partner connection. Hmmmm.... I know that you know all about it, but this nice lady over here says she hasn't heard, so please bear with me while I explain it to her. Dancing is done when somebody plays music. Music has bits in it. For example, in Waltz: 1,2,3,1,2,3,1,2,3... and so on. Songs are usually rather long, so people have to repeat themselves sooner or later. Some small portions of these movements became sorted out and accompanied by a name tag. Chapter 'Syllabus' of this site describes names of wide variety of steps, their timing, alignment, etc. Chapter 'READ ME' contains some articles on different aspects of ballroom dancing. They are those embellishments in dancing. There are many ways to start, pause or finish a dancing piece. Dips are those things when the gentleman bends the lady to the position where she cannot do anything at all. She just waits for the magic moment when he will lift her back to the normal dance position. Depending on the rate of the mutual attraction between the lady and the man, this thing could be either fun or embarrassment. In the step table the Timing means the bits of the music. In columns 'Alignment' means where man's face points. Abbreviations:
