All men are mortal. Socrates was mortal. Therefore, all men are Socrates. Which means that all men are homosexuals. - Woody Allen, "Love and Death".

"Chaos always defeats order, because it's better organized." Terry Pratchett

Converting data between the two systems is sometimes referred to as the NUXI problem. Imagine the word UNIX stored in two 2-byte words. In a big-endian system, it would be stored as UNIX. In a little-endian system, it would be stored as NUXI.

Monkey Gland -3 oz Gin
-1 1/2 oz Orange Juice
-3 dashes Pernod or similar Anise Drink
-3 dashes Grenadine
Pour ingredients in the order listed over ice in a shaker cup. Shake well, then strain into a fairly large cocktail glass. No garnish is needed.

Alexander himself
3/19/2006
I recently captured a clip about dancing. I have already sent it to a bunch of people who, I was sure, would agree with me that it is a nice one. I was hesitating about putting it on Internet. Actually, I was kidding about reconsidering not to change my intentions to keep it out of public view. Now, while all the copyrighters from National Geographic are busy trying to understand what I've just said, look here and enjoy (about 5Mb): kindatango.mpg

Also, there is another article in Dance Partnership chapter. This time it is a kind of memuarish style: "Leaders don't flock..."

A minister in Texas lamented that it was difficult to get his message across to his congregation: "It's so beautiful here in the winter," he said, "that heaven doesn't interest them. And it's so hot here in the summer that hell doesn't scare them." It's been a while since the last newsletter. The servers where the whole project lives were physically moved across half of the United States. They visited New Orleans a couple of weeks before the hurricane Katrina. And settled down in Texas for now. It's actually pretty cool up there. Cactus and banana trees are growing right on the streets, some cannabis here and there. Instead of the concrete jungles of New York City, there are nice trees with flowers and humming-birds. The most ubiquitous bird is the roadrunner. Did you know, roadrunners do not run that often, they prefer flying like all the rest of normal birds. Things are slightly different outside of New York. There are no bagels in coffee shops; there are extra fast food chains. In pizza places they ask "to go or for here?" and when you say "to stay" they think you are making fun of them. (in New York City most of pizza and Chinese restaurants ask you "to stay or to go?" At many ballroom places in Texas, there is a sign at the entrance 'No guns beyond this point'. Those signs are at many public areas, but there are no metal detectors and nobody frisks you. Here is a fresh picture of Alexander: alexpanchul_tx.jp On the T-shirt: "Y'all go to hell, I am going to Texas" - this is what some famous macho dude said before being killed in Alamo during Mexican War. Instead of developing ballroom related stuff, like he ought to, he funneled his genius into other projects, for example, a linguistic project www.dancology.com. Did you know that dancedimension.com became what it is only after Alexander realized that 'dancology' should have been spelled 'danceology'? This is it for now. Do what you enjoy doing most, and keep positive attitude, Alexander
"This being Easter Sunday, we will ask Mrs. Lewis to come forward and lay an egg on the altar."
Word has it that Ballroom/Latin Dancing is now officially to be included in the Olympics. Isn't this cool?
Dance partner search is about to be dramatically rebuilt. Too many outsiders stop by, I am just forced to finally create decent database and user interface. You can try old one here

Dance Partner Search Database is growing. Try it now(it has nice picture of me now). And don't forget to tell your friends about it. Partner dancing is about partners, we can not dance by ourselves, let us help each other.

www.eballroomdances.com - nice newly discovered dance related web-site. Most material is in Russian though.

What respect is.
One of the most important qualities a dancer can have is the respect to everybody on a dancing floor. There is never a reason to make anybody a target for laughter. After all, everybody is unique. The respect rests on humility, the knowledge that what's visible in a fool is only a chapter in their whole story. Talents are constantly changing and sometimes it is just a matter of where the light is falling as to see what is seen.

A principal of a small middle school had a problem with a few of the older girls starting to use lipstick. When applying it in the bathroom they would then press their lips to the mirror and leave lip prints.
Before it got out of hand he thought of a way to stop it. He gathered all the girls together that wore lipstick and told them he wanted to meet with them in the ladies room at 2pm. They gathered at 2pm and found the principal and the school custodian waiting for them.

The principal explained that it was becoming a problem for the custodian to clean the mirror every night. He said he felt the ladies did not fully understand just how much of a problem it was and he wanted them to witness just how hard it was to clean.

The custodian then demonstrated. He took a long brush on a handle out of a box. He then dipped the brush in the nearest toilet, moved to the mirror and proceeded to remove the lipstick.

That was the last day the girls pressed their lips on the mirror.

This story demonstrates how effective the visual example is. DanceDimension.com is about to use drawings to make the syllabus description easier to understand for the beginners.
For that purpose Alexander is looking for a dedicated athletic girl, 5'3"-5'5", to participate in his project as a model. She needs to be addicted enough to not want to be paid for this hard work and to forgo any copyright claims.
Please, use 'Contact Us' form on the right menu if you or somemody you know(in New York City area) would be interested.

what is the proper age to get married? "Eighty-four! Because at that age, you don't have to work anymore, and you can spend all your time loving each other in your bedroom." (Judy, age 8) more at "Love Tips ... As Explained By Kids"
A note from Alexander. This is getting weird. The number of people who gets to know me is becoming bigger. People hear about me and people have a chance to take a look at some pictures at website. However, I still don't know many of audience. So, if you see me at a party, say "hi, I've been to that web site of yours", or something. Don't just smile from ear to ear. When people smile at me for no obvious reason I might just freak out. :-)
Current Dance Partner Search ads do not show e-mails. I thought this is nice idea to protect people from telemarketers. But it might also be some barrier for dancers. If you have some e-mail that you are not affraid to expose on internet, send it to me and I will put it as it is.
from FAQs
Q: What is this DanceDimension.com anyway?
A: DanceDimension.com in non-commercial pet-project of an amateur dancer hanging out in New York City. Initially the reason for this site was simple need to make electronic notebook that could be accessable both from home and from workplace.(addresses of studios, schedule of classes, etc.) Then the founder, Alexander Panchul was driven by perfidious goal of picking up more girls for his dance practice. He was too lazy to write custom-made seducing letter to each of them, so he decided to put some of his thoughts to this site. Let those who is nice to be seduced and those who is useless to be repelled the hell out of his sight.
